Why is VRBO rejecting my photos?!

Question

Ugh. . . . I have tried well over a dozen times to upload a bathroom photo. It fits all the requirements- size limit, minimum pixels, file format, no text etc. I don't think I am pushing it over the total photo data limit because I have uploaded other photos since getting this one rejected. I have tried resizing, cropping, deleting other photos that are vaguely similar, etc.

VRBO host "service" is closed. Anyone have any clue as to why it's not taking this photo?

This is further confirmation for me as to why VRBO will always be 2nd fiddle to AirBnb. Thank you in advance to anyone who can offer assistance.

I have had this problem before ( a couple years ago) I just re-booted my laptop, restarted their app, and kept trying. All of a sudden, presto, it worked.

This has happened on both platforms, I'm pretty sure...

I have been unable to change my nightly rate. It says it is changed but not on the site.

Maybe you could try and upload the pic via the app?

This has been happening to me for over a year now. Customer service is no help. Have tried re-sizing to every possible size. Have tried on multiple different computers, multiple different browsers, phone app. I recently gave up and accepted I wouldn't be able to get it uploaded. Fortunately for me its just a seasonal exterior photo, so I don't really NEED the photo in question.

In your case it seems pretty important to have a photo of that bathroom in your listing. My only thought would be to take 5-10 different photos of that bathroom from different angles and just keep trying until one works.

What formats are you trying?  I have found that Apple .heic doesn't work.  I export them as .jpg and that solves the problem.

For me Airbnb is second fiddle to Vrbo, but I digress.

Sounds like you have tries every thing reasonable. May be a glitch?

I think your going to have to call Vrbo to get this resolved.

@Sarah Kensinger yes, I tried a few iterations of resizing. Also changed the contrast. Tried uploading via app and laptop. Nothing. Something about the photo is triggering the rejection.

I ended up pulling a photo from the MLS and cropping out the hideous towels they had hanging. . . . It'll have to do! Thankfully I've got tons of great photos from throughout the house so it really won't matter. Got about a dozen bookings within the first 4-5 days (all on ABNB)

Saw you did try this, so I'm not sure since resizing is what always worked for me.

Have you tired resizing it just to resize it? Even though a photo is within the sizing limits, sometimes just resizing it for the sake of whatever the software is throwing at you, finally works.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. To address them:

-File format is JPEG, same with all of my photos

-Tried resizing, filters, contrast; clearing image cache & cookies on laptop; uploading from mobile app (which would negate the previous); deleting the other bathroom photo that has the same tile pattern so it doesn't think it's a double (but otherwise looks very different) . . . None of it worked

-Cannot take photos of the bathroom since I am a long ways away. Next best option would be pulling MLS photos, which are close enough because no changes have been made. Might be what I have to do if customer service is no help

Seems that there is something that is throwing off the alarm bells in the photo and I cannot seem to figure out what it could be?
