Hosts: How Many Hours a Week Do You REALLY Spend Managing Your Airbnb?

Hey everyone!

Curious to hear from other Airbnb hosts here — how many hours a week do you actually spend managing your STR?From guest messages, pricing updates, maintenance calls, turnovers, and reviews — it adds up fast!

When I first got into co-hosting, a few owners told me they thought they’d only spend 2–3 hours a week… then reality hit with last-minute calls, lockouts at midnight, and surprise plumbing issues.

So, what’s your honest weekly time spent? What’s your biggest time suck right now? Have you ever considered hiring help, or do you like to stay super hands-on?

Would love to hear your experiences — I co-host/manage in Atlanta, GA and always like swapping stories and seeing how others streamline their hosting.

To answer the question you would have to know I do maintenance on 3 of 9 of my properties, all the marketing and all the bookkeeping.  I say for 9 properties we avg 20 hrs a week. Some weeks it is only 6 hrs total. Bookkeeping can take as much time as management.  Most payments are automated, but Quickbooks only has so much automation.

depends on your systems, Automated messaging, clear check in instructions and rules. Having videos on how to operate ammenities for guests.. helps answer a lot of questions before they get asked.
