STR Within 3hours radius of Sacramento

Posted

I am currently looking into STR to offset W2 taxes and am looking to enter a market within 3 hours of Sacramento, CA. I am having a hard time really dialing in what I am looking for. What are some good markets and what should I expect to pay in areas recommended? Any help would be great. I've read books, listened to podcast, done research but am feeling lost in it all. I currently have a long term rental duplex that's doing well but am looking for something to offset my tax burden because I make over 150k.

@Taylor Steenburgen

hello.  i don't invest in STRs myself but i always get nervous when people want to get into them solely to offset taxes.  that by itself doesn't mean you'll be successful and the market is very tough right now.  just throwing that out for consideration.
