King vs Queen

I have read previous threads but would like specific situation insight. STR beach property came with perfectly fine queen bed no headboard. Room is large enough to house a king comfortably but not 2 queens. Macy's has a nice king on sale $866 all in. Would you spend the money for king? The biggest consideration is when the queen is worn I would want to change to king but will have purchased queen headboard.

My experience is that king beds tend to convert enough additional stays to more than justify the upgrade expense if the room has the additional space without being crowded. And parents traveling with smaller children often like the extra space of a king bed. For example, to allow the kids to share the bed that first night in a strange place or to watch a movie together in bed before sending them back to their own room. Just adds options.
