Advice Needed on Blue Ridge Mountain Cabin
Hey all, my family and I own a mountain log cabin in the Blue Ridge area for the better part of two years. We live a ~100 minute drive away from the cabin.
I would say performance has been middling -- nothing too stellar but definitely nice spouts of demand and positive cash flow in various months, though we've noticed demand falter a little bit in recent months after a couple average reviews. For context, we have managed this property with two co-host, both of whom had brought their own cleaners to the operation.
The biggest hurdle for us has been a routine and thorough cleaning for the cabin. If there's ever a complaint from guests (there usually aren't any), it's to do with the cleanliness of the cabin.
Our latest property manager just gave his notice, and is stating that he wants to step away from property management altogether. This is a bummer, but we are at a crossroads, and wanted to solicit some views and advice:
1) Should we look to self-manage our property?
2) If so, would folks have any advice on cleaning services in the area that we could use? This is the longest pole in the tent for us and would love any leads or referrals

I would go self-management, but only if you have TIE. Time, Interest, and Energy. It's a part-time job. If you are a doctor or business professional, you are probably going to make far less per hour managing your rental than you do in your profession. So it's a question of the value of your time, as well as your interest and energy.
You can find housekeepers and repair folks by visiting the Facebook page of the community at or near where the property is located. Not a big deal. There might be some trial and error before you find a good fit.
