Security Deposits through OwnerRez

I use OwnerRez to manage my AirBnB and VRBO listing. AirBnB does not collect security deposits, so I setup OwnerRez to collect the security deposit as they recommend in their documentation (https://www.ownerrez.com/support/articles/security-deposit-h...). This seems to surprise some guests and concern them since the deposit is outside of AirBnb.

How does everyone handle this?

How does everyone handle this?

 I imagine you may be losing bookings over this.

If I'm booking through Airbnb and a 3rd party asks for an off platform deposit, I'd look for another property.
