Do this instead of a professional photography

If you are just starting out, and cannot afford the service of a professional photographer for your listing (s),read through and take a step.

Taking Great Airbnb Photos with Just Your Smartphone! No Pro Photographer Needed

Starting out as a new Airbnb host is exciting, but let’s be honest, it can be financially overwhelming too. Between furnishing your space and stocking up on essentials, hiring a professional photographer might feel like a luxury you can’t afford just yet.

But here’s the good news: you can still capture stunning photos of your space with just your smartphone and make your listing stand out to potential guests. Here are some practical tips that worked for me.

Use Natural Light (Always)

Open curtains and shoot during the day. Natural light makes your space look bigger, cleaner, and more inviting.

Clean & Declutter First

Make sure everything is spotless and tidy. Hide cables, bins, personal items, or anything that might distract from the vibe you’re going for.

Shoot from Chest Height or Lower

Avoid awkward angles, shoot from around 4 feet (eye level when seated) for rooms to appear more natural and balanced.

Use Gridlines

Turn on the grid feature in your camera settings to keep your shots straight and aligned especially helpful for room corners and countertops.

Capture Key Details

Showcase what makes your space special: cozy corners, a coffee machine, books, or even local art.

Take Horizontal Shots

Landscape photos generally work better for Airbnb. They fit the platform layout well and give a fuller view of your space.

Edit Lightly

Use free tools like Snapseed or Lightroom Mobile to brighten photos, correct color, and enhance details without overdoing it.

You don’t need the latest iPhone or a DSLR camera to win bookings. With intention, effort, and these smartphone tips, your Airbnb listing can still shine and attract guests who love what they see. However, getting the service of a professional photographer is most preferred.

I hope this helps someone ☺️
