wow those cuts look to be 1/1 or so with no retaining wall.. Not sure how deep the foundation on the house is.. And I am not familiar with the soil conditions there but in many areas this simply would not be allowed without an engineered cut and fill with a key way system and retainage above along with a water system above the uphill side to take the shedd water around the cut slope.  Some soils will hold 1/1 slopes OK but generally speaking 2/1 is safer.
