Is anyone buying in Belize

Hey BP,

I'm looking to get some advice and direction about buying properties in Belize. I like Belize because it's English speaking, much of their economy is tied to the US, development, and the increase of advertising, development, and travel patterns to the country.

Is anyone buying homes there to rent out? Anyone know about the lenders in the country? Are they investor friendly? Would cash out refinancing be an option to do there as in the BRRR method? Can I 1031 investment properties in the US into investment properties in a foreign country like Belize??

So,

I just got back from 8 days in Placencia. It was awesome. I definately plan on buying down there. The question remains only what my strategy will be. I spent my time meeting w the local politicians, real estate agents, and contractors. I really have a good grasp of how to invest down there and have solid connections that I trust. I have a lead on land I would like to develop and have a contractor picked out. I'm just waiting for the foreclosure of 7 acres that is ready to build. I'all be getting a call when it's available. Let me know if anyone wants info on business fling or buying down there. There is a ton of opportunity. And yes, Hopkins is a sleepy little fishing village but is being built lit up.
