Does your town/city/region have a group for vacation rental / short term rental hosts that you can rely on for local advocacy, education, support, or networking? I know of a handful of ones: • Host2Host in Portland, Oregon • NASTRA in Nashville, Tennessee • STLSTR in St. Louis, Missouri • San Francisco Home Sharers Democratic Club in SF, California • Colorado Airbnb Hosts in Denver, Colorado • Alliance for Neighborhood Prosperity in New Orleans, Louisiana I'm wondering if you all know of other groups in the US.

I have a monopoly in my market. So this website is my group.

@Eric A. That's great to know! How have you been marketing the FB groups? If you're in St. Augustine next weekend, we're meeting on May 10, Friday. @Tyann Marcink Yes, I know of an awesome house in St. Augustine! If you have firm dates, let me know and I'll check our calendar.

@John Underwood I don't recall anyone off the top of my head, but I'll keep it in mind as I travel and meet other hosts. Definitely consider trying to connect with hosts specific in your area. Having a group of support especially comes in handy when legislation begins to crop up.

A forum is enough. Trying to scrape a group together sounds lovely, but I would learn more here and other forums I follow

I started one when we bought a house in NE FL two years ago. We don’t meet too often in person but we share political action stories and news as well as collaborate and network online. I’m not local but when we travel there, we always gather. Next weekend is one of those times. I value that network.

@Tyann Marcink I have started two groups on Facebook. Airbnb St. Augustine Airbnb Ponte Vedra Not a lot of traffic yet but I plan to build it.

Honestly, up until about a month ago I was too busy to even think about such a thing (80-hour/week "real job" + managing 4 STRs). Now I'm transitioning into RE on a more full-time basis, so it's a possibility. I am a member of several Facebook groups that focus on VRs in my region.

I'm not local to my STRs so it's never something I've looked into. I'm about to dip my toe in in Nashville, though, so I'll have to check out NASTRA. :)

My VRBO is an hour away but I still have not heard of any such local groups for my area. It would be a good idea.
