Costs of using listing services

I'm looking at a couple of properties on Seabrook Island in South Carolina as short term rentals (I love this area and hope to retire here).  I'm trying to understand what it is going to cost me to use Airbnb and/or VRBO.  There is obviously a fee when the property is rented (3-5% well is it 3 or 5???) but I've also seen other fees if the payment is received via a credit card.  How many other hidden fees are there?  I've called a couple of PM's in the area and they are not taking new clients (should that tell me something?).  Any ideas?

Thanks!

Ralph

Every market is different.  I have an ad or Airbnb and in the last 6 years I've had less than 5 bookings from the website.  But my renters are travelling contractors.  Those guys you see working on the large erections of steel at a petrochemical refinery.  Welders, boilermakers, pipefitters and the like.  Here are some of my tenants in that basket supported by a crane.
