I just received a very nice email from Brian Chesky, CEO and Co-Founder of Airbnb. Check your inbox, you should have the same email.

I've read through all the articles and I'm happy to say they are really taking steps in the right direction. In the past I've gone so far as to tell new hosts "Airbnb ALWAYS takes the guests side." That seems to be changing. Click the link below for higher guest standards.

Strengthening the Airbnb Community Standards

I've always found it quite disturbing that Airbnb would jump on the side of a guest with zero reviews in favor of a host with hundreds of glorious reviews.

Speaking of reviews, the review policy has already changed in favor of hosts. You can read about these changes with the following link:

Introducing Airbnb's updated Review Policy

Last and maybe least, they're making it easier to get ahold of customer service. Of course that doesn't mean customer service will be any better. But I do like the addition of a Live Chat. They're also making steps to protect hosts in case of emergency, which makes sense since we're the ones with a piece of real property on the line.

How Airbnb Is Protecting Hosts

2020 is looking up in the world of Vacation Rental hosts. I'm proud to be (one of) the most popular self-managed host in my market. After being kicked in the teeth many times over the years, I'm glad to see airbnb is making changes.

Lucas from Tennessee.
