Should I light my firepit at an STR apartment complex?

I fabricated a 4' x 4' firepit to keep at a 14 unit STR apartment complex. It is seldom used, and I keep it stocked with firewood. Since it is getting cooler, do you think I should start a fire in the pit every afternoon? Every person staying in the apartment complex works outside until 5:30 or 6:00. It gets below freezing at night here.
