I'd like to manage other peoples' AirBnbs , how do I start?

I've become very interested in investment properties and am doing all I can to teach myself all aspects of the process , opportunities etc. I think a great learning tool , before buying one of my own, would be to manage an AirBnb , perhaps for someone out of town or who doesn't want to deal with the day to day details of an AirBnb property. I think I would be a great " property manager " for whoever is in need , but not sure how to go about seeking these roles. Any advice or leads would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Hey @Mandie Robinson , no tar and feathering here. :) But...
Have you ever managed a vacation or short term rental before? If not, what makes you sure you will do a good job for a client?
According to what you posted, you want to find someone to pay you to be your guinea pig. Would you hire someone who has never done a thing before but read a lot about it?
What you could do is ruin a persons rental in 1/2 a season. All it takes is a couple of bad reviews on a lightly reviewed rental to kill it. @Luke Carl has a bunch of rentals, runs them well and still gets the occasional crazy guest who gives a bad review. He can absorb it as he has thousands of 5 star reviews. Someone new to the business can't
Personally I think the reverse is what you should do. Get your own place, run it successfully then you can go out and maybe get some folks who want/need some management.

That is great advice!
Start with your own place and learn the ropes.

@Mandie Robinson look for a company that does short term rental property management in your area and ask them for a job. As it stands right now you have no experience managing short term rentals, so who would hire you?

Agree with others who've said you need some proof you know what you're doing.
So:
1. Buy your own property and run it as an STR, or
2. Find someone how will rent to you and let you put it on Airbnb at your own risk (arbitrage). Most of these deals are pretty tight, especially after you pay to furnish the place, but if you make a few bucks and learn a lot of lessons it may be worth it.
Good luck!
