Do you ever get hateful communications about your STRs?

Question

I've got an ad up on Craigslist.  A 3 bedroom house for $600 a week.  The ad also mentions 2 bedrooms for $400 and 4 bedrooms for $800.  This message came from another Craigslist user today:

So it's ppl like you that have way too much

Any comments?

@Paul Sandhu aaahhh... so the sender is asking you to divest some of your holdings and is seeking an opportunity to purchase one? I would ask them for a remedy to the "too much" situation... might be fun to pick their brain.

@Bruce Woodruff I guess my tongue in cheek sarcasm didn't come through in my post. I totally understand that this person doesn't have a clue about how all this works... I just thought it might be fun to "innocently" engage to make them explain themselves.

That's not how I read it.....the sender is p**sed off because some one (Paul) has multiple properties. People like that don't think others should 'have too much'. In other words....Socialists.

Paul - tell him you'll meet him at one of the properties and explain this 'having too much' thing. In person....

I have not for short term rentals, but did post an ad on Facebook for an apartment from a 4 unit apartment building for $750 and a person started messaging me that the reason people can not live freely now is because they are slaves to housing.  How could I ask that price for a one bedroom (BTW also with a den, LR, Kitchen, DR and bath)?  I should be ashamed of myself, all one bedrooms should be no more than $300.  No one should be able to own more than one house unless everybody had a house.  (But then who would rent mine for $300 if everybody already had one?)  No wonder so many people were behind in their rent or not paying.  Landlords were greedy, they should rot in he** and on and on.... She then started that she would rent it for up to $400 if I redid the kitchen (again...it was only one renter old), tiled the bathroom, put a window in the den (yeah, other side of the den outside is a staircase to the upstairs apartments).

I told her we were not a good tenant/landlord match, and that the apartment was as - is.  She eventually deleted the messages, but there were dozens.  Kept it entertaining.

I got a hateful email from an attorney threatening to sue me because his client apparently attempted to move my slate pool table and it collapsed onto her foot.  Note to self:  Don't move pool tables.
