San Diego - Downtown Condo Market

Looking to buy a condo in downtown SD as a home (and not an investment) and wondering what the outlook for condo market in downtown is.  I'm not in a rush to purchase and can wait so my question for local SD investors and experts is -  what are you seeing for downtown condo market?  The areas of interest are Little Italy down to Marina area.

@Biren J.

The outlook for downtown is quite strong, especially in those neighborhoods you mentioned. SD is one of the fastest growing cities in the U.S.

If you want a great book that supports this by a local expert, read Alan Nevin's "The Great Divide." It speaks to this using a lot of factual data.

There are scheduled projects all throughout downtown & along the bay that support the continued growth: Manchester Pacific Gateway (1.5B), Re-dev of Seaport Village, Re-dev of Horton Plaza (Campus @ Horton), 7th & Market, East Village Green, Chula Vista Bay Front, The IDEA district being formed inside of East Village and the new "Superblock."

Many of these projects are adding thousands of high paying tech jobs.

San Diego is underpriced compared to other major cities & (arguably) has the best weather in the U.S. It's growing at a fast rate and is becoming a new hub for innovation and start ups.

Hope this helps
