Starting REI Journey - Bergen County, NJ - Lets Connect!

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to introduce myself to the community! My wife and I have decided 2022 will be the year we put our all into real estate investing. Last year we were planning on using an FHA to house hack in Elizabeth, NJ but it felt through due to financing issues. This left us a bit discourage, but we're back on the marathon!

Right now we are focused on finding the right market and analyzing deals daily. We are staying in Bergen County, NJ at the moment and are deciding whether to use FHA loan to house hack in our semi expensive neighborhood, look at properties 1-2 hours away or do out of state investing.

First off, I want to wish you and your wife the best in 2022, real estate investing can be a really great way to build generational wealth, so I hope you both succeed in that!

I think if you are willing to look up to 1-2 hours away, you still have plenty of options, even investing in properties here in New Jersey - it can be really difficult for beginner investors to invest in real estate out of state.
