Insurance type on mixed used property

Mahi Adhik
Posted

Hi, My name is Mahi and I am a newbie to the BiggerPockets community. I am still exploring the features here. I am planning to buy a mixed-use property which has 1 bedroom upstairs and commercial space on the 1st floor. I would like to rent out the top floor and start my own business on the first floor. I would like to know what would be the process to obtain property insurance. Will that be the same as a residential home? Any other suggestions in the rental investing journey would be appreciated. Thank you!
