Hello BP community! My name is CJ and I’m relatively new here. I would like to get into real estate investing to achieve financial independence. I am in the process of raising capital for my first deal. I have been listening to the BP podcasts relating to multifamily houses, being a good landlord, managing tenants, finances, and starting out (currently on podcast #62 with 20 podcasts listened to). I currently work at a 372 unit apartment complex and another apartment complex that is in construction (2 finished buildings so far). Working at the 372 unit complex for three years definitely impacted my decision to get into real estate (along with financial independence). If anyone wants to connect, I am in the 08527 zip code area. Feel free to introduce yourself to me and/or drop any useful information for a newbie on this post. I’m glad to be here and ready to learn!

@CJ Lounsbury

You are well-positioned to enter the MF space.

Congrats and good luck to you……….

My only advice is to network network network.

Let’s everybody know what you are looking to accomplish and your interest in buying apartments. NOT is a pushy sales like manner but in a conversational manner.

Let people know what you are doing, don’t ask them for anything, let them come to you - lots of people are interested in RE their ears perk up, let them express interest to you.

Find your first deal and close it somehow.

Actually owning something provides the necessary street cred to attract investors. Buy a small rental property on your own. Partner with a few friends to buy an 8 unit. Get in the game somehow.
