Extremely motivated newbie here ;-)
Hi everyone! I'm currently in the Orlando area looking to start networking and putting myself out there to possibly find someone willing to mentor me. I've had some education and I've spent the last month really just being a sponge in all sorts of places. I feel I'm ready to get out there but we all know how scary that can look. If I could even just shadow someone a couple times a week or month I'd be so appreciative. I'm 1000% moldable and ready to make myself a successful real estate investor within a years time. Thanks in advance!!
Welcome to the journey, Rachel! If you haven't explored the financing side of these deals or are still open to hearing from others on that process, I'd love the opportunity to connect and give some example options or talk through any questions you may have.
Reach out any time directly if you'd like with questions that are more involved than just a post.
Much success !!
Bob
Hey @Rachel Conklin!
Huge congrats on taking these first big steps. It might be beneficial to check out the Orlando specific forums here on BP. And it looks like there's a meet up in a couple of weeks. You should also check out the community InvestHer! It's all women in the real estate investing industry. They have a conference coming up in May (Scottsdale) that is really great!
And! BPCon is in Orlando for 2023, so it might be good to connect with other women in the group and attend the event together. :)
@Rachel Conklin Congrats on getting started and welcome! I'm in Orlando as a Realtor and investor. I am active with CFRI, the local chapter of the National Real Estate Investors Association. The 'main' meeting is next Tuesday and would be a great place to meet and network with local investors, trades etc and maybe get some direction on what niche you are most interested and qualified for.
Depending on what you want to do, (flip, buy and hold, house hack, wholesale, buy notes, chase probate or code violations, tax deeds, land etc) there are plenty of resources in Orlando as it is a very sought after market that performs well.
Best of luck, let me know if I can be of any help.
Welcome to BP Rachel! It's a great tool for learning new tips and meeting people who share the same passion for RE investing. Orlando is a great place for investing, so many attractions (theme parks, beautiful towns, colleges, etc.), but that also bring a lot of competitiveness. I am a local Realtor in the area, and there are plenty of properties that pop up, but they usually go quick. Don't hesitate to post on here, everyone is super nice and helpful.
Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions, or want to chat about it.
Best of luck!
Love the enthusiasm! Welcome to the party. Good luck on your journey.

Welcome! I love the energy! There's a fairly active investor community here in Orlando it's just a matter of trying to get connected. Sean mentioned above cfri there's also greater Orlando Real Estate investors association. Check out the blue gems group or look for them on Facebook they do a short-term rental meet up here in the area once a month. Myself along with another gentleman here on BiggerPockets have a meet up the first Saturday of each month except for November. Get out there meet some people. What kind of investing do you want to do?

I invest in Texas, happy to connect
Welcome Rachel. You have a lot of enthusiam which is a great start. Orlando is a great market. It is extremely competitive in Orlando, but can be worth it if you build a good team around you and you learn by doing. Are you looking anywhere else? Have you even got that far? No pressure whatsoever. You have time. I'll connect with you. Good luck and welcome to BP.
Hey Rachel, welcome! What are your goals and what investment strategies are you looking to explore?

Hey Shawn! I've actually looked up the CFRI Association website and decided that that going to those meetings will be a great place for me to start. It's nice to finally meet someone else in Orlando that does this and has some knowledge in this area so I might just be bugging you a little bit when I've got questions (if you dont mind, of course LOL) or like I said in my post, if you want a shadow or a free helper for a day doing something simple (talking to potential sellers/buyers, closings, how you do your marketing) things like that I would be beyond thrilled! Thanks again for introducing yourself and I look forward to seeing you at one of the meetings!

Hi William! Thanks for the introduction and also for the heads up LOL. I was almost positive that because Orlando is such a desirable area that investment props will probably go pretty fast so yeahh that just confirmed my expectations. That's okay though, I'm determined to become successful at this so when the time is right, I'll find my first deal and keep going from there. I'll also keep you in mind if I should need comps or to list something, thanks again!
Welcome Rachel! Ditto on the previous comments. The BP forums are an amazing resource! If you ever experience difficulty in searching for specific topics/answers to questions in BP, a tip is to try typing the topic/question in the Google search bar followed by the word "biggerpockets". Usually the search results generate anything associated to that topic/question on BP, include forums.
Best wishes on your investor journey!
