New member, new to REI, looking to connect

Hello all!

My name is Travis Feldman, and I am new the world of real estate investing. I am an aspiring investor, and here to learn, share experiences, and build meaningful connections.

A bit about me: I am a Florida native, born in Clearwater. I currently live in North Tampa. I am happily married; we welcomed our first child earlier this year. I currently work full time as a PA in the Emergency Room. I hope to one day transition out of medicine and into real estate full time. I have read numerous real estate books, listened to countless podcasts, and recently completed the BRRRR invest academy lead by Nate Barger.

I am interested investing in long term rentals (single and multifamily), flips, short term rentals, mobile home parks, and storage units.

I am eager to connect with local realtors, investors, property managers, wholesalers, and private money lenders.

    @Travis Feldman welcome! You are in a great market, all of my rentals, brrrs, and wholesale deals have been in Pensacola, FL. Direct mail and cold calling go a long way, I've scored some deals from realtor relations as well before it hit market.

     Thank you @Nate Meeker! I am in the process of making some realtor connections now. I also recently started using dealmachine for direct mailers.

    Welcome to BP @Travis Feldman. I'm in Orlando and always available to have a conversation just to see what we can learn from each other. I'm a full time Realtor and also do several forms of investing, both passive and active. My advice would be to try and choose one or two of those niches you mentioned, they will all get you there, but find one that you like, your good at, have the time for. 

    I would also suggest going to your local REIA. I am on the board at CFRI, Orlando's chapter of the National REIA and the connections you make there will go a long way.

    Hi Travis, that's an impressive range of interest in real estate. Covering everything from long-term rentals to short-term rentals, flips, mobile home parks and storage units definitely covers a lot of ground and building connections is wise move and those are beneficial to your real estate journey.

    Hey Travis, welcome to BP! This is the perfect place to start learning and building connections for your real estate goals. Congratulations on completing the BRRRR invest academy btw and also by having your first child man. I recommend that you attend local REI networking groups and meetups to connect with fellow real estate investors, also seek advice from lenders and brokers on finding a suitable real estate mentor. Expand your network and explore social media events, these are proven to be beneficial in achieving your real estate goals. Happy to connect and help out.

    Hello Travis, Welcome to BP and congrats on your newborn. I am also a newer RE investor with one property (Duplex) just purchased Feb this year. I worked with @Josh Green which is an amazing realtor and with @Nick Velez which is a great lender to work with. They both own investment properties and are not just a realtor/lender. I trust these two will do what's right for you as they did for me. They are passionate about helping you achieve your RE goals and will not guide you in any direction that does not match what your goals are.
