Hi Everyone
My wife @LizaD and I are just getting started in this fabulous world of real estate investing. We listened to several audio books and decided that REI was what we wanted to do. After months of research Liza stumbled onto BP while researching investors communities. She told me about it, how amazing BP is and urged me to check it out. Two days later I was hooked, I subscribed to the podcast and ever since i've been trying to catch up on the episodes. I love how Joshua Dorkin picks on Brandon Turner, you guys are great and what you've done with this community is unbelievable. I am very much looking forward to using this community as a tool to increase our education and expand our network.
Liza and I have plans to buy and hold multifamily units in and around but not limited to Tampa, FL. We just recently moved out of our spacious home and into a bedroom in my mothers house to have the opportunity of renting our home out. We plan to gain experience in property management and extra income with this move. Our plan is to have our home rented out by April 1st and hopefully not get fooled.
After we get a tenant in our home we are going to start looking for our first triplex or fourplex. We hope to meet many Tampa locals members of BP along the way.
I am exited to be here and to share our ambitious journey with everyone in this community. Thank you for all the help we've already received.

Hi Richard, Hi @LizaD,
Thanks for your post. I love that you shared your good common sense for saving money to get started. I think that all of us had to make big sacrifices at the start, and from time to time along the way as well!
I'm living in one of my half-done rehabs at the moment (long story), but even after all these years of being in real estate, it's refreshing to be reminded that I'm not the only one who sometimes makes uncomfortable lifestyle changes, with the end goal in mind.
Newbies can learn a lot from the more experienced investors here on BP, but I think everyone can really benefit from the Newbies' posts, being reminded of why we first started it all. Please keep the posts coming and let me know how you're getting on in Tampa. I have a few multi-family properties and SFHs in Tampa Heights and the near-by neighborhoods, and I'd love to hear about where you end up buying.
