Hello Everyone,

My name is Mike Travis and I am a full time Director of Sales for a niche area of real estate, where I provide guidance and negotiate sales of cell tower leases for building owners, landlords, commercial real estate brokers, etc. I am also a licensed real estate agent in New Jersey and a volunteer youth football, basketball and baseball coach. I am new to BiggerPockets and real estate investing and I am looking to invest with the BRRRR method as I'm currently learning as much as possible before I put this method to practice.

At this point I have read the How to Invest in Real Estate - Ultimate Beginner's Guide to Getting Started and I am currently reading Buy, Rehab, Rent, Refinance, Repeat as well as learning what I can from the BiggerPockets website. I would like to learn as much as possible and get any feedback or insights from investors in my area. I live in Monmouth County NJ and I am looking to invest in multifamily property's where I can use the BRRRR method of investing. I am looking to find a property in the area where I live as it is my first investment property and I want to be able to monitor as much of the process as possible. I am also thinking of using a cash out refi on my primary residence along with some cash that I have saved to finance the purchase. I would love to hear feedback on whether or not this is a good strategy, if Monmouth County NJ is a good area to invest in, if there are better areas to invest in? Any tips or recommendations on getting started are greatly appreciated. I am open to learning and meeting new people as well as giving and receiving guidance along this journey. I have a unique background so I may be of some assistance to others in certain aspects. Looking forward to getting started and meeting new people.

Thank you,

Mike
