Starting Out

About a month ago, I decided that I had to do something different. I have worked extremely hard for every employer I have ever worked for. The last 12 years I have dedicated myself to my most recent job and have been a large player in helping that company grow and all I have to look forward to is a retirement of social security. This is such a depressing thought. Now that my children are grown I decided to bite the bullet and start my real estate career by wholesaling.

I have been reading, reading,and then reading some more and developing my business plan. It is scary starting out in a field that I have very little knowledge of, virtually no funds to work with, and find it extremely difficult to step out of my comfort zone and "socialize". But I am determined. I attended my first local real estate business group meeting about a week ago. It was all I could do to get out of the car and enter the room, but I forced myself and was so glad I did. I met some very nice people and learned a thing or two.

For the next two weekends I will be attending a 40 hour course to prepare to get my real estate license and I am using every spare moment I have to learn everything I can.

There is no turning back...onward and upward!

@Charmy,

Yes I am working on getting my real estate salesperson license, however I am not sure if it is necessary. I figure it can't hurt. Since I am real new at this, perhaps this question would be better answered by someone on the sit who has more experience.
