Real Estate Investing Novice

Hi everyone! I'm based in Eugene, Oregon and I'm just getting started in real estate investing. My goal is to buy my first property within the next year, ideally a house hack that I can also use to start building rental income, but I'm in a very high cost of living area, so I may need to manage my expectations and look into other strategies. 

I’m currently learning as much as I can and looking to connect with local investors or potential mentors who have experience with buy-and-hold, house hacking, long-distance rentals, or creative financing strategies.

I first got interested in real estate investing through listening to podcasts and seeing others build wealth through rental properties—it made me realize how powerful real estate can be for long-term financial freedom.
