Looking for advice

Hello to everyone out there reading this. I am new to the REI community and trying to absorb as much information as possible. I have been attending some of the free or cheap master classes out there but not sure I want to spend the money on a mentor when there are cheaper alternatives, like this platform. I know this is going to be a journey that will take time and education and is not a get rich quick or pyramid scheme.

I am currently trying to make connections with like minded people, experienced or not, to gain more confidence on pulling the trigger on a long time dream of mine.  I just wanted to throw out some thoughts in hopes of gaining some real world experience from some people that have already started the journey. 

How did you get started, did you use a mentorship program or just listen to people along the way?  Do you use a software or AI program to find leads or end buyers?  What’s the best option for education to prepare to make the plunge?  I know the best knowledge will come from mistakes but I’m trying to minimize some of those with other peoples experience and knowledge.  How much money, realistically, can i expect to gamble with in the beginning?  Is it reasonable to think i can start with journey with no experience and about $10k?
