New to House Hacking in ATL

Tanisha Meredith
Posted

Hi everyone! I’m a first-time homebuyer actively preparing to purchase a multifamily property next year in the greater Atlanta area. My long-term goal is to build wealth through real estate investing, starting with house hacking.

I'm currently researching local down payment assistance programs (like Invest Atlanta and Georgia Dream) and working to align financing with the multifamily route. If anyone has experience in this area including advice working with lenders who understand these strategies, or tips for investing in the Atlanta market, please reach out!

I'm also open to accountabili-buddies, networking opportunities, or any resources you found helpful early on in your journey. Thanks for welcoming me into this community!

Welcome, Tanisha! House hacking in Atlanta is a smart move, and it’s great you’re already looking into programs like Invest Atlanta and Georgia Dream. Be sure to work with lenders familiar with using rental income in their underwriting, it makes a big difference.
