Starting My Real Estate Journey from VA to Indy!

Hello BiggerPockets community!

I'm Ben, currently living in Fairfax, VA, and I’ve been diving into real estate investing with growing passion over the past few years. I’m a 9-year Navy veteran, and I’m leveraging the VA loan to build my real estate portfolio.

I currently own a townhouse in Burke, VA, which I plan to rent out starting this fall/winter or early spring as I transition into long-term rental (LTR) investing.

My next big move is purchasing a single-family home in the northern Indianapolis area—looking closely at Carmel, Fishers, Zionsville, or Geist—to serve as my new primary residence, also using the VA loan. Right now, I'm focused on strategizing the rental of my current property and saving for the down payment on the next one.

Outside of real estate, I enjoy staying active, DIY projects, and raising a young family (two kids under 3!). I’m here to learn from others who’ve walked this path and to connect with like-minded investors.
