Where Do I Start?

Question

Hey everyone,I’m new to BiggerPockets and just wanted to introduce myself. I’m a full-time Realtor based in the Fort Bragg area and Army veteran. Over the past couple of years, I’ve helped clients close 30+ transactions  and now I’m diving into investing myself.

I’m here to connect with other investors, learn more about the game, and hopefully bring value by helping others find and lock in great deals in my market. Always open to networking, sharing local insight, or teaming up on something.

Hey Eric!

If I was in your position, and I had to start all over I would read/listen to as many investing books as possible as well as mindset books. I would also attend all of the investor meetups that I could within an hour drive. There is a bigger pockets meet up in Raleigh ran by Ryan Cassidy which is a great place to meet people, Fayetteville has a couple, and there are also some in Moore county. Get out there, listen to the presentations, learn, then act! The first few deals are always scary - sub2's tend to be a safer option if you can find them. That is how I got my first rental and first few flips with very little funds in my pocket.
