@Lawrence Roedl,

Hey there! welcome to the community and great job getting started with tax liens! That already puts you ahead of a lot of beginners.

If you’re looking to move from liens into owning real property, here are a few solid next steps:

Decide your investment goal: Are you after cash flow (monthly income) or appreciation (long-term growth)? That’ll guide your strategy.

Start small and simple: Many new investors begin with a turnkey single-family rental - already rehabbed, tenanted, and professionally managed. It’s a great way to learn without being overwhelmed.

Research markets that offer good returns and landlord-friendly laws - places like Birmingham, AL, Akron/Canton, OH, or Columbus, GA are great starting points.

Build your team early: agent, lender, property manager, and insurance broker, especially if you invest out of state.

Always happy to chat more about what's worked for other investors. Best of luck!
