Living and investing in rural Nebraska
Live in small town Nebraska. I bought an assisted living in 2019 for 200k that had sat empty for a couple years. Run mainly short term rentals out of it. Moved into the assisted living we now call the lodge.
Got Married in 2022 bought an old house down the block at auction for 40k 5 bed room 2 bath. Moved in fixed the house up some now thinking about renting it out and moving back into the lodge or selling it.
End of 2025 bought a 4 plex for 245k used equity gained from the lodge put $0 down financed the whole thing. Total rents are $2550. By the end of the year would like to get it to $3k.
Now looking to buy another building with 4 units on an upper level and commercial space on the main floor that could be converted to more units. Currently total rents equal $2025 should be able to get 3k or more. Might take a little updating and turnover with current tenants to get there. Asking $265k and has been listed for nearly 2 years.
Just learning how to use equity and investing into long term rentals. Excited to learn all I can.
