Hello! I recently am getting back on here, but I am a broker owner in Billings, Montana that has been assisting investors since 2018. I was surprised to find out that there are agents out there that really don't like working with investors, but I have found an amazing community with the local investors that I know and help find deals! I started a local investor meet up that meets monthly and it has been something that I look forward to every single month and have met so many cool people that I never would have otherwise. I have had the benefit of learning the different mindsets and strategies that investors employ when looking for and capitalizing real estate purchases. If you know anyone interested in a second home, vacation property, hunting land, commercial building, or literally whatever type of real estate investment in the Big Sky State, I love to talk investing and how to do it in Montana ;)

Hi Amanda, welcome back to BP! I think it's awesome that you've built a local meetup and community around investing. One thing I've noticed over the years is that some agents shy away from working with investors because investor deals often require more analysis, creativity, and patience than a traditional owner-occupant transaction. The flip side is that investors tend to become repeat clients when you consistently help them solve problems and find opportunities. Being involved in a local investor group is also a huge advantage because you get to learn different strategies, market perspectives, and lessons from people actively doing deals. For newer investors reading this, networking with local investors, lenders, contractors, and property managers can often accelerate your learning more than reading books alone.
