Former REALTOR® turned CPA
Hey everyone — first day here, though I’ve been meaning to join for a while.
Quick background: I came up in real estate, first as a broker and then, for a good stretch, as an investment analyst underwriting deals for the people managing doors and flipping houses.
In 2015, I left to go into public accounting, earned my CPA in 2017, and in 2023 hung out my own shingle, serving REALTORS® and real estate investors.
So I’ve seen this business from the commission side, the deal-underwriting side, and now the tax and financial side.
I’m not here to pitch anyone. I’m here to learn from people actively doing what I spent years analyzing from a desk — and to be useful where I can. If there’s a tax, entity-structure, or cash-flow knot I can help untangle in the forums, I’ll be around.
Still a small fish here, and genuinely glad to be in the room.
Honest question for the investors: what’s the financial or tax decision you’ve found hardest to get a straight answer on? That’s the stuff I’d most like to dig into with you.
