Hi everyone, my name is Jeremy Preston. I am a 21 year old college student who will be graduating in one year! I currently go to Chico State university, however I have lived in Redlands almost my entire life. I feel very blessed that I have been introduced into real estate at such an early age. I am very determined and eager to learn as much as I can. I would love to connect and begin to build some relationships with the investors in this area!

Hello @Jeremy Preston Redlands is a great city to live in! I graduated from RHS in 2011 and also started investing at a young age such as yourself (I'm still very young). I invest in the Inland Empire mostly, but I will invest in "whatever makes sense." By that I mean that I do not strictly do flips or buy and holds, but instead look at each possible investment opportunity as an individual case. As a new person starting out the best thing you can do is find a mentor who is willing to teach you the ropes. Bigger Pockets is a huge resource for your own self research. Also, you'll need to find out how you are going to start investing. If you get a full time job out of college with a contracted salaries you can most likely buy an investment property through traditional financing. If you are looking to tap other ways of investing then using OPM (other people's money) is a great way to get started immediately. Family and friends might be the first people to ask. For the first couple of deals you shouldhave an experienced person to guide you. That is where that mentor comes in that we talked about earlier. Let me know if you have any specific questions or if you would like to meet for coffee sometime in the Inland Empire. I'd love to help you get started.
