Hello everyone My name is John and I am a newbie to the real estate world. I joined BP about a month ago and have been reading the forum trying to learn as much as possible. I have also been reading Zillow and an auction website trying to find some good properties. I have found (what I think could be deals) but being a complete newbie I am a bit trigger shy. So that lead me to the realization that I need to find a mentor to learn from in person, IMO, you can only learn so much from reading, you need to get out there and do. I have a few years working in construction and I consider myself handy but I have been out of the trades for quite a few years. I am interested in both flipping and long term buy and hold properties. I have actually found both types of properties in my area but as I said as a newbie I am a bit trigger shy. If the real estate fairy dropped a mentor in my lap that would be super-duper but I would love to hear of some local REI groups/meetings. **I will try and have a profile picture up later today.
