NEW NEW NEW - Hello from Seattle, BP!

Hello all! I am a Graphic Designer in Seattle, WA and a complete novice in REI. I discovered this site a several weeks ago and have been READING READING READING ever since. It has been a longtime dream of mine to purchase, renovate, and manage small multi-family properties. This site has me completely inspired, and I have decided it's time for me to make my first investment. I'm hoping to find a 2-4 unit property within striking distance of Seattle, so i can live on site and still keep my current job. Seattle itself is pretty much out because property prices here are CRAY, and rich I am not (yet). It looks like kitsap county has some affordable options, so i'm starting my search there. I would love to hear suggestions from other investors in my area.

I'm looking forward to meeting all my new BP friends and colleagues!

Danielle, welcome to BiggerPockets!  One of the things I do in my spare time (which isn't much!) is to crunch number on properties in and near downtown, since we would like to move back to the city at some point, and you're right, prices are crazy.
