Rookie. Again! Long Island, New York
Hi All,
My name is Harry Mikros. First, I'd like to say thank you to everyone for making this site awesome. Like many here, I found the BP site by chance...what a score!!!
In my 50 years I've worn many different hats. For twenty of those years, I wore the hat of a NYC police officer (retired). My current hat, since 2009, is that of a NYS home inspector. I have 15 years experience in construction/home improvements. I've owned a few start up businesses in the past but was never able to take them to the next level due to my law enforcement commitment.
I enjoy doing home inspections and anything to do with real estate. I've had a few opportunities in the past to purchase property but due to a lack of time, knowledge, and/or funds, I could not commit. Now that I'm free of my "regular job" I have more time to work on my real estate business/goals...
My goals:
- Get my RE license, learn the ins and outs of RE law, learn my market
- Gain the wisdom of the RE business.
- Learn the many ways to finance and find lenders
- Learn how to find and make deals
- Find my niche and have a back up plan
- Buy my first property ^^see above^^
- Purchase multiplex units that produce a nice monthly cash flow
I enjoy a great cup of coffee and/or a nice cigar. If anyone would like to meet up and talk some real estate, give me a shout.
