Hello to all BP members,

My name is Michael, I live in Sherman Oaks, CA and I am just starting out in real estate investing. I have been doing quite a bit of reading on BP. I'm thrilled to find I don't have to pay some guru big $ to learn. What a great resource! I am most interested in buying and holding, but flipping is of interest too. The Los Angeles area is quite expensive, so starting here is a bit daunting. I have considered looking out of state or in smaller towns, but it would be good to be able to start closer to home.

Hey Michael! I'm not far from you, just down in Venice. I love Sherman Oaks...my best friend was living there until recently and I loved going to hang out with him up there. Nice to get into the valley sometimes.

I am also a buy and hold investor and all my properties are out of state for the same reason you mention--LA is a bit much. For several reasons. 

You definitely don't have to pay the gurus, lots of help on here! Reach out to any of us anytime.
