Newbie from Rolla, Missouri

Hi! My name is JoEllen and I currently reside in Rolla, MO. I am a complete newb to all of this, and for now, just searching for any information to begin with.

I'm a stay-at-home mom of 3 totally awesome boys, and wife of an extremely hard working and loving husband. I've always dreamt of being able to own RE and make a living off of it, but through misconceptions and vague explanations I was steered away thinking I couldn't do so without large sums of money and good credit. Currently my interests lie with flipping house, wholesaling, buying and renting foreclosures, tax liens and anything else. I just need someone to point me in the right direction, as I feel I'm doing circles at times, lol.

Luckily I'm a Facebook fanatic and came across an ad for BiggerPockets, otherwise this all may have still been just a dream. After creating my account, I surfed through some of the forums and have already purchased "Flip Deals: Real Estate Profits on Steroids" by Jackie Lange, as suggested by another member. I can't wait to really dive into the book and get some more insight on how this all works.

Hello @JoEllen Soucie welcome to BP! I am a couple hours up Hwy 44 from you just outside of St Louis. My first thought for you when it comes to Rolla or even Ft Leonard Wood would be buy and hold properties, Renting to college students when you will always have a continuous flow of and renting to military families as well. I would think that would be a great area for that.
