Newbie from Wallingford, CT learning the REI ropes

Wanted to take a moment and introduce myself here on BP. My name is Claudio and I am a working dad and husband in the IT field.  I have little background in real estate outside owning a condo previously, and now a home.

My initial goal is education. I'd like to learn how a middle class guy like myself can potentially purchase a rental property, both as a way to diversify my investment portfolio and generate cash flow. I'm not a wealthy man, but I'm not broke either. So I want to learn what options are out there for me considering my position.

I learned about bigger pockets organically through performing web searches and researching real estate. I've already purchased Brandons book, and follow the podcasts weekly.  Now looking to start some interaction here on the forums and learn even more.

Thanks,

Claudio

@Claudio Golia

Welcome.

Locate and attend 3 different local REIA club meetings great place to meet people gather resources and info. Here you will meet wholesalers who provide deals and rehabbers (cash buyers).

Two Great reads, I bought both J. Scott The Book on Flipping Houses, The Book on Estimating ReHab Costs http://www.biggerpockets.com/flippingbook

Consider checking out HUD homes for small multi's owner occupied gets first crack.

Download BP’s newest book here some good due diligence in Chapter 10. Real Estate Rewind Starting over
