Hi! My name is Christina and my husband, Lee, and I are planning on starting to buy distressed properties to fix and flip with a long term goal of making this our full time jobs. We are in North Texas in the Texoma area (Sherman/Denison, TX) and would like to meet others involved in this area.
We have a tiny bit of experience with fix and flip. We bought our first house in 2009 and due to a small budget we ended up with a super cheap foreclosure that had some issues. We lived there for three years and fixed it up and sold it for a decent profit. When we bought our next house we again made it a point to get something we could make money on. We plan to sell for profit again next year and to use the money to start an official fix and flip business.
I've been reading around on the BiggerPockets forums for a while now and figured it was time I get signed up and introduce myself! So howdy!
Good to have you on board Christina ! Im not a pro here but we can all help each other out to get a better understanding of the real estate business and get to flipping properties like the pros !
Welcome @Christina Criswell to the BP community!
There is a wealth of knowledge here on BP. Please check out the How-To Guides "How to Flip Houses" and "The Ultimate Beginner's Guide to REI." BP also has some very good books for sale. The books by J. Scott "The Book on Flipping Houses" and "The Book on Estimating Rehab Cost" are very good.
Good luck to you and Lee!
Welcome to the site. I am a new member located in Forney.
Welcome to Bigger Pockets community. You will find all kinds of useful information under “Learn.”
Welcome! The Sherman area should be a great place to invest. It should be a Dallas suburb in a short time. And there are certainly a lot of fixer properties in the area.
How far away are you looking for opportunities? Would Bonham be too far?
Welcome aboard Christina and Lee. It sounds like you are mastering the live in slow flip. I really like this strategy, since done right, you pay no capital games tax. We are glad you've joined us!
We are looking at staying in the Sherman/Denison area at this time. Bonham would be a bit too far out.
I am also interested in the Sherman / Denison area! I actually live in Ft Worth but my family has a small farm outside of sherman, so I go up to visit very often. I hope your investing business is doing well in this area.
I am looking to find more people in the area who are investing or who are realtors/ wholesalers. Any help is greatly appreciated
@Barrett Boone @Christina Criswell, are you still looking for Sherman properties?
@Tammy Patchin..I am looking for some properties in Sherman....Do let me know if you have any..?
If anyone is still in the Sherman/Denison area looking for houses. I am a Wholesaler with a bunch of houses. Let's connect.
