Belated Introduction - Sacramento Native, now in Spain

Hello BP Community!

Well here I am, 30 posts later and having realized that I never posted my introduction or explained very much about myself. I guess some of this has come up in my past posts, but in a nutshell:

Raised in the greater Sacramento area, and lived all over Northern California. My professional career has included stints in accounting, marketing, and hotel management. Got a false start in real estate back in 2008 when I had a great job and had been reading about RE for a while - started shopping around properties with an agent, and was ready to put in the first offer on a flip... then I got laid off, and a few months later my girlfriend lost her job too, so that nixed those plans. Took me a long time to find a job after that, which left a pretty strong impression on me.

Fast forward to now, I´m in a very different place. Spent a while traveling around the world, met my wife in the process, and now we operate a property management business specializing in vacation rentals in Seville, Spain. It´s a fun thing, and we get to meet people from all over the world, but (honestly), tourist apartments are kinda boring. It´s always been our intention to move into REI of our own, but so far all the surplus from the business has gone right back into its own growth. Now we´re shifting focus, and moving seriously towards purchasing a fourplex in the next 12-18 months. In the meantime, we´re spending lots of time reading, evaluating deals, and trying to contribute to and learn from the BP community.

I´m happy to connect with other professionals, especially those that are in the greater Sacramento area as that is where we plan to acquire our first investment.
