Hi All!  I found this website yesterday and instantly became obsessed.  It's a little bit hard to admit that I spent well over 12 hours pouring through it yesterday....

A little bit about me: I moved into this duplex as a renter in 2001.  I have been talking with the landlord for about four years about buying it from him.  This allowed for a VERY sweet deal for us, as the Denver market is exploding.  I also got married just after the purchase and we have two dogs and two teens living with us.  This does mean that we are more likely to stay as owner-occupants for a couple more years...

I inherited tenants with the home purchase.  It's an interesting relationship, as we went from friends/neighbors to landlords/tenants.  It hasn't been without its issues and I am looking forward to re-renting the side, likely sooner than their lease should be permitting.

We have spent a lot of time talking about goals, and we have decided that we would ideally like to purchase another duplex and do this all over again, while holding the current one.  This is a tough market, with prices that fall higher than halfway between Iowa and California....  But the good news for investors in Denver is that the rents have become astronomical.  The big hope for me, is that they hold up.

I'm looking forward to this membership and everything that BP has to offer.  I am very impressed with the caliber of professionals and the information that I have found so far.
