Hello, BiggerPockets. I'm Joseph from Omaha, NE.
I've been reading this site and others about REI for some time now, and I'm almost ready to make my first investment purchase! I'm looking into purchasing multifamily properties here in Omaha using the buy and hold strategy.
About 1.5 years ago, I moved to Omaha and have been renovating the house I bought--it's almost finally done and I'm ready to get started on a new project (about $130,000 equity in house; no mortgage). Really, I'm looking for a way to extract and build upon the equity I already have in real estate. Although I am currently working on my PhD in a rather lucrative field (a few years left), I would still like to generate passive income from real estate on the side.
