Hello!

My name is Conor Murphy, a Culver City native, just returning to Culver City after four years at UCSC. I am still in the education phase of real estate investing, having read "The Unofficial Guide to Real Estate Investing" by Spencer Strauss and immersing myself in the BiggerPockets podcasts. I want to aggressively move out of the education phase and start looking at real deals in the Beverlywood and Los Feliz neighborhoods, I just need some discipline when it comes to approaching agents with the right questions, and revealing pertinent information. More specifically, I want to live in one of the units in the multi-family I ultimately purchase.

I have a couple thousand saved up for a down payment and a great co-signer but I don't have credit yet. I know that is the first step and a huge priority. I want to get the most out of my money.

Thank you BiggerPockets for creating this community.

Welcome to BP! I'm in the education phase as well. Just keep educating yourself and connect with as many people as possible. I've met/chatted with a lot of great people here and have learned a lot.

I live in Los Feliz, and while it's great, it's also very expensive. As @David Tipton mentioned, unless you have a really really good contributor, you'll need to consider other areas.

I'm personally looking into NELA.
