Hi guys,

My name is Jonathan and I'm an IT technician for the US Air Force. I recently became very interested in owning real estate as I see it as a great opportunity to take my financial future into my own hands. I got tired of watching my stocks grow slowly and decided I trust myself with my money more than I trust the stock market. Although my IRA is still in stocks and bonds, I want to use my leftover money every month to do something better.

I'm very much a newb to real estate investing, but I love to learn about anything to do with business and making money through working intelligently (smarter not harder). I've already been creeping around Bigger Pockets for a few months and decided to finally join the club.

Thank you for welcoming me into this community and I look forward to learning a lot!

@Jonathan Acosta-Torres, I'm not sure about the Abilene area in TX, but I usually look on Redfin or realtor.com for online. However, because you are a buyer, it's free for you to use an agent. So what I would do is get preapproved for a VA loan with a lender and then find an agent to work with in your area and have him help you search for a 3-4plex. Agents have access to the bigger list and they will probably be your fastest way to search for the idea property that you want. Hope this helps!
