Hi everyone!  I have heard really good things about this site so I thought I would go ahead and sign up.  I am a newbie out here in the real estate world.  While I have owned a few rental properties here and there, I never truly knew what I was doing, nor cared at the time.

Now that I have a little over a year before I reach 40, I realize it's time to get serious about my retirement and future, because a lame 401k or SS isn't going to do it.  I have always enjoyed touring houses and learning all I can about them.

One of the things that really appeals to me about real estate investing is that I can also make a difference in people's lives.  I can help save them from going through foreclosure or bankruptcy.  Someday I hope to get to mentor status myself and help people learn to start their own real estate investing business.

Right now, I have purchased a couple of education programs via the Internet ($10k altogether) and I have enjoyed them very much.  I also have hired a real estate coach to get me started.  I have learned and read so much.  Now is the time for action.  No need for additional products.

I have been going to my local REIA meetings (when I'm not working for my J-O-B) and last evening, attended a free group which gets newbies started in wholesaling for no fee. It's more of a split-the-profits time of arrangement at the beginning. Fair enough.

I am sickened when I see the predators out there who have TV shows on A&E and HGTV partnering with scam "education" companies.  They prey on poor people and people they know have no chance on ever turning their lives around.  That is sick!  I did sign up to be an affiliate of a program to market their education products, but after three months or thinking about it, I realize I want to focus my efforts on making money investing, not being a salesperson.

So that's me!  I'm looking forward to reading the posts and learning more and hopefully someday having the experience to be able to answer questions and partner with other real estate investors.
