Heading to Hawaii!
Hello BP!!
My name is Cole and I'm an active duty Army officer and I just found out I'm getting stationed in Hawaii for the next 2-3 years.....so that's awesome : ) I just joined BP and am looking up my real estate knowledge in anticipation of my first time home buy on the island of Oahu. My goal and basic game plan is to purchase a home (VA loan, maybe 5 percent down), occupy during my time in Hawaii and then transition it into a cash-flowing vacation rental. I realize that the goal I have set is lofty but I'm prepared to do the research and work in order to make it happen. My undergrad was a B.B.A. in Real Estate Finance and I am an avid investor in the stock market. I understand money and how markets work but I know I have a lot to learn. Any advice or contacts would be appreciated. I am looking forward to learning all I need to know to be successful here on Bigger Pockets! Aloha!
