Hello all,

I'm a California native, new to living in Sonoma County and relatively new to real estate investing. My background is in structural engineering and I work with a licensed engineer on residential remodels, additions, foundation work and more throughout the Bay Area. I'm interested in transitioning to real estate investing, in particular, a combination of local buy, fix, sell as well as buy and hold nationwide and multi-family opportunities. I've read quite a bit of books, blogs, and listened to countless hours of podcasts and youtube videos on the subject by both experts and charlatans. I have found BiggerPockets to have a wonderful wealth of information and members who are here to help one another, not just sell their latest technique or coaching to others. I'd like to meet local investors, experienced or not to to begin networking with, learning from, sharing any skills or expertise I have to offer them and helping each other be more successful. If you're a local investor that needs some help, or if I can bring value to your existing business, let's chat! I have a property in AZ and a property in San Francisco that I'm in the process of figuring out what to do next with each of them.

Hello Chris M.

Structural engineers are always good to have around, as long as you can pay the fees! Jk..

To be clear, I am not licensed (but hope to be by the end of the year), but I work for a licensed SE with over 30 years experience on just about everything from decks and stairs, room additions, new construction, to large industrial projects. We do small and large jobs (though small to medium residential remodels and repairs are our bread and butter). We can definitely help with design, consultation, and permitting for the structural work associated with 203k loans. We also do inspections.

If you've got a specific project you're working on and need help, send me a message so I don't sound like I'm pushing the limits of self promotion in an introductory post!
