Better late than never in Portland

Hello Everyone!!

I suppose it is time for me to stop reading all the posts and introduce myself.

My journey into R.E. came to be in 2005 at 20 years old. I had become a Land surveyor in San Diego, California and was involved in Residential projects (subdivisions mostly) all over the county. I was able to see the building process from start to finish and I think that will help me in the future (hopefully). 7 years later and after some world travel to learn new skills I  became involved in making wine in the Willamette Valley (south of Portland, Oregon) after living in Australia, New Zealand, & France.

I am interested in learning more about wholesaling, fix-and-flips, and buy-and-hold with apartments. I felt like I was gathering some good steam until I was laid off a few weeks ago and now I am faced with either using my extra reserves of money and time for marketing and charging R.E. invesment FT or to play it safe and find a job and somehow create or find a deal in my spare time.

Anyway, this is a brief intro and I look forward to meeting a lot of you in the future! Thanks for reading!

Cheers,

Ian

HI Ian:

How about a job as RE agent? This way you get the best of both worlds, you get income as an agent (starting going to be slow), but also a chance to grow your knowledge in real estate, you get to see lots of properties, the more you see, the more you know. My brokerage actually encourage us new agents to go pre-viewing atleast 5 houses a week, even we have no clients.  Also a RE agent license is very valuable in your flipping activity.

I have a full time job, but also have Oregon license and also in rehab activity.

Thanks
